Duplex apartment with balcony overlooking the river/harbour. Beautifully decorated and furnished and simply the best view.

The only thing I think could be improved would be to rearrange the kitchen cupboards to provide room for food items---we left things on the worktop which was inconvenient & untidy. Apart from that, if you could provide better weather.........!

The apartment was lovely- not sure why some reviews were so negative. The decor was light and the whole place was very comfortable- top class bed - we slept so well. We have stayed at other apartments and this one was definitely the nicest with superb views from the balcony. At night we watched the swallows flying around the estuary whilst the boats gently swayed in the waves - stunning- will stay again

This apartment is perfect holiday accommodation. It has everything you need, the view from the balcony is exactly like the picture (so often they are not), location is great for access to the coast path, the scenic railway, the harbour and shops. Being situated on a small peninsula it's away from the rest of the town so is quieter, all you can hear at night is seabirds and the clinking of ropes on masts. Sure you can hear the neighbours if they are on their balconies, but it's an apartment complex. If you want perfect isolation go to a remote cottage!

The complex could do with a lick of paint, but that's not really relevant when you are indoors. We had none of the issues mentioned by other reviewers and would happily stay here again. Weather being so good helped, enabling a relaxing time on the balcony watching the boats and sipping a drink in the sun.

We had a splendid time at Anchor Watch. The view from the apartment is wonderful, it is a short walk to the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways Station and Spooners Bar which is worth a visit. Porthmadog is a lovely place to stay

However, the apartment is not without its issues. For example, there are two holes in the carpet and floor in the living area where, presumably, old radiators were replaced. There should have been a rug over these holes but it was not in place when we arrived so we could see that the holes were full of spider webs, there was a spider skin next to one and dust and dirt along the skirting board. (Photo available). There is a vacuum cleaner available. Should I have vacuumed them up after paying almost £1000 for the week - why should I? I covered them up with the rug. There is, what looks like, mould at the top of one of the patio doors. (Photo available). There is also a line of dust down the door surround in the bathroom and spots of mould in the shower.

Bedding, the kitchen area and bathroom appeared clean. The furniture appeared dated but that was not a problem and, overall, the decor suited the space.

There is no extractor fan in the bathroom and the window does not stay open so towels were permanently damp and I had to put the heated towel rail on several times. Spending a small amount getting the window fixed would save both the owner and the environment.

There were other minor issues for example: the guest information folder was out of date; a lack of power points in the right places; throws on the settees that needed permanently adjusting (we didn’t take them off because they were obviously there for a reason). The place just needed a bit of tlc.

Most of these issues could be easily rectified by the owner and my criticism is intended to be constructive.

Anchor Watch is by far the best apartment we have stayed in on the South Snowden complex. It is clean, smart, well appointed and with that lovely view of the harbour and down the estuary. Just two quibbles. The overnight heating of the hot water sometimes trips the fuse. Whilst this is easily remedied it needs fixing. Also, please supply some simple instructions for the TV. I could not work out how to use the catch-up facility which was rather frustrating.
Otherwise, we hope to stay again!

Fabulous apartment the views were the best very nice and peaceful just watching the boats etc.
once we sorted out the shower it was perfect

You can't fault the view and location. If the owner was to update the furnishings and decor. Very musty old smell to the place. Crockery was dirty and had to wash everything before use. Chipped glasses and scratched pans. I wouldnt use them. In between the sofa was filthy, the sofa itself was also really dirty as and the cushions need to go. The bed and bedding was clean and bathroom acceptable. Hot water went 2 days before end of stay, This did not effect shower so did not bother to report until end of stay.
It did us ok for the week but to bring me back things need to be prestine.
You have perfect stuff and you take a deposit so people respect or they lose their deposit.
Shame as so much potential

Lovely location. Slept really well, all facilities we required. Heating worked well for us, only problem was the towel rail not working to dry towels, but put clothes airer on top of stairs. Underfloor heating in bathroom also worked fine. The only slight down from this was the housekeeping soap dish in bathroom and toilet not cleaned and also found an old dried furry teabag in stainless steel teapot. Don't let this put you off as really nice apartment, beautiful in summer for sitting on balcony. We stayed at Anchor Watch 2018 and is still as nice as we remembered.

Excellent location, very clean
On arrival no hot water until the following day, only by reading previous comments/ notes it became clean that the trip switch ( for hot water) on the consumer unit high above the entrance door fails and continued to fail a total of three times.
This is a serious problem and needs to be addressed.
The electric heaters were difficult to regulate unhelped by the very small screen and complex manufactures instructions, the portable heater was in use almost constantly.
The heated towel rail was not working which apparently had been reported previously.
Shower inadequate, underfloor heating was good

View to die for. Comfy, well appointed and tastefully furnished. Main bed very comfy.
Couldn't get on with sitting at breakfast bar on the stools!
Only downside was sitting on smaller sofa, the tv next door is the other side of the wall by the lamp and you didn't need to have your tv on for tipping point or the chase as you could listen to next doors tv instead and unfortunately the other side of us they had a baby and I know babies do cry at times but with our stairs backing on to their stairs you would have thought the sound wouldn't have been obvious.
This is just personal comments not to detract from a lovely home that someone is generous to share.

Stayed here for four nights in august and took a friend from Melbourne Australia with us. It was an amazing experience and a perfect spot to visit everywhere we wanted. The most beautiful place was sitting outside on the balcony every evening watching the activity on the water with a glass in hand chilling after a wonderful day out and seeing the sun going down. Perfect and very peaceful. Would definitely recommend this place.

Anchor Watch was a great compact but well equipped apartment with a fantastic balcony view which we loved waking up to every morning. We picked this accommodation because of it being a short drive away from Morfa Bychan beach and within walking distance of local amenities. It's located well for days out too. We had a lovely stay despite the weather!

Lovely location with views up the estuary. We saw lots of wildlife whilst we sat in the apartment. The property was clean and well presented with most modern appliances. The stair to the property is not suitable for the disabled and take small bags so they are easy to carry up to the property.

Lovely well kept apartment with some of the best views to offer in Porthmadog. Beautiful to watch the wildlife and tides from the balcony.
Perfectly situated for the Ffestinniog railway and a short stroll to the high street. Beds were very comfortable. Easy parking outside the property. Need to be mindful of steep steps to access the property but all in all a great holiday location.

Lovely well set out apartment. Great views over the estuary, ideal for bird watching. The weather was really poor but it just changes the outlook lots to see still. It is a great base for the coast and mountains. Lots to do in the area.

We had a lovely stay. Property well presented, clean and tidy. All correspondence with STS efficient with good directions. Amazing views out over the estuary. Walk into town in minutes. Kitchen well equipped. Only negatives: lots of different controls for heaters, water, towel rail, underfloor heating etc was a bit confusing. Shower not the best -hot but not very powerful at all. Would love to come back in warmer weather and sit out on the balcony. Thanks Anchor Watch for a lovely stay.

A fabulous location looking out over the estuary - views from very window!
Fascinating watching herons, egrets etc. A lovely balcony off the living room which gets the sun. The property was warm and cosy with everything needed for a short stay. An easy walk into town for shops. Lovely walks from the property round to Borth Y Gest and the coastal path. Will definitely return!

The apartment was extremely comfortable with excellent views of the estuary. The bed also was very comfortable. Outdoor seating very good, with cushions . The TV was on the rather small side, a bigger one would be a lot better.
Be aware the apartment access is up a flight of steps, so you need to be able to carry luggage etc up the steps. But the view is worth it.

Ideal for our week's birthday break. Location is great with the town a 10min walk and all we wanted to see and do not far away and of course the beautiful North Wales landscape all around. Accommodation very nice and wonderful view from the balcony, watching fish and the heron each morning.
Would love to return.

Got a call an hour after we had left to say that a pillow had gone missing. We took our own pillows?? There is no way we would have packed one of theirs. We got home and checked. Sure enough, we only had OUR OWN pillows. I don’t expect to be accused of stealing something that we didn’t. No apology on call.

Hope the cost isn’t taken off my C. Card.

Very poor end to a lovely holiday.

We have stayed at properties on South Snowden Wharf previously but we thought this was quite possibly our favourite yet. The location was lovely at the end of the estate - the view down the estuary from the first floor balcony was beautiful (we did have fantastic weather). The apartment itself was light and airy - the bedrooms remaining cool during the heatwave - with lovely fresh decor throughout and was well equipped - there really wasn't anything else we felt we needed from it. We thought the description on the STS website probably sells the property a bit short - it was bigger and better equipped than we expected, for example hanging space and drawers available in both bedrooms. The parking space was conveniently located close to the bottom of the steps to the front door. The only things to be mindful of are that the external staircase did feel quite steep and the sound from the flat below did carry upstairs to the first floor bedroom.

We have been to South Snowdon Wharf many times and we were very lucky with the weather.
This flat has just about enough space for 4 adults. Sofas and beds are comfortable but bar stools around the breakfast bar were uncomfortable and it was difficult to eat together. Patio furniture was in a poor state but was replaced by the owner during the week. Anchor Watch compares favourably with most other flats we have used over the years. Location is fantastic.

We had a lovely week in Anchor Watch. Great location with beautiful views and allocated parking.
The apartment had everything we needed except additional rolls of toilet paper.
Apartment was clean and comfortable.
Some work was going on nextdoor so there was some noise but that wasn't a problem.
